More often than not, being on the receiving end of any kind of permanent sports-themed tattoo is a very bad and (or) drunk idea.

However, when it’s for a good cause and a result of something as magical as an NHL expansion team reaching a Stanley Cup Final during its first year of existence, well, ink away.

Both are at the forefront outside of T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, as fans have had the chance all postseason long to sacrifice a patch of skin in favour of a Golden Knights logo.

Proceeds from the ink-jobs doled out by local shop Revolt Tattoos are donated to help support youth hockey in the area, and supporters and fanatics alike have lined up in droves — all for the chance to show they’re part of a fledgling Vegas hockey family while supporting the sport’s growth in the city.

“This season has been the most I have felt a sense of community,” one fan said.

“If you see a Golden Knights jersey, just somebody at the grocery store, you just connect no matter who you are,” another added.

This season has already been a win for the Golden Knights and hockey in the Las Vegas community, and the team is now just three W’s away from being responsible for a whole ton of Stanley Cup-related ink.
